Future of former fish control lab building in Riverside Park up for consideration
The building to be used as a wedding and event venue, according to city documents
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – La Crosse’s Judiciary and Administration committee approved sending a re-zoning request to the full council that would make way for the former fish hatchery building in Riverside park to be used a as wedding and event venue.
Event space or a vacation rental area could be on the second floor.
“Really finding a finding a fit for the facility that would help the city in the funding to maintain a historic site like this. While a the same time, offering an amenity to the park goers,” said La Crosse Parks and Recreation director Jay Odegaard.
The neighboring parking lot would be a outdoor reception area and beer garden under the proposal.
Explore La Crosse left the building in the spring of 2021.
