G-E-T asks for public input on facilities plan

The plans could be approved without an additional referendum

GALESVILLE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau school district is asking for public input on an extra curricular facilities plan.

The proposed plan aims to renovate the school’s aging football, track, wrestling, and dance facilities, all without the need for an additional referendum.

The current levy-increasing referendum gave the school district the ability to increase their levy by $800,000 more per year, but school officials decided to limit how much they levy.

And while the money may be available to school officials already, they are asking for as much public input as possible before moving forward.

“It’s in our news letter, we have posters up around town at all the major community sites, and we’re having informational sessions with the public. It’s our goal to solicit as much input as possible so that the school board feels comfortable making a decision,” says District Administrator Aaron Engel.

The initial cost of the proposed facility is about five and a half million dollars.
