Galesville Police no longer seeking suspicious person, vehicle

The Galesville Police Department is no longer seeking information regarding a suspicious driver/vehicle report from Monday.

In a news release sent out Wednesday evening, the department says the driver and vehicle have been identified and there is no concern for public safety regarding this incident.

The Galesville Police department is looking for a suspicious vehicle and driver following a report within the city.

According to a press release, a juvenile youth was walking in Galesville on Monday around 6:30 p.m. when a vehicle described as a red truck with a black stripe on the side and ladder rack in the back slowed up and watched them walking.

The driver, described as a 40-something Caucasian male, pulled onto the street in front of the juvenile, exited the vehicle and asked the juvenile to get into his truck and he would give the juvenile a ride home.

Police say the man got back into his vehicle and drove south on US 53 at the intersection of Highway 54/93.

The man was clean shaven, about 5’9″ and 200 lbs. He was wearing glasses, a yellow shirt, and brown khakis.
