Gas leak forces evacuation of Decorah school

DECORAH, Iowa (AP) — Students have been dismissed for the day at Decorah High School because a construction crew punched a hole in a gas line.

The school was evacuated after the line was hit a little after 8 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

There was no heat in the building.

Superintendent Mike Haluska says he expects the line will be repaired by early Monday afternoon and that classes would resume on Tuesday.
