Gaul, Kemp share why voters should support them ahead of primary election in La Crosse mayoral race
Ten candidates are on the ballot for Mayor
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Ten candidates are on the ballot for next week’s primary election.
Of those ten, two will advance to April’s general election.
Martin Gaul currently serves as La Crosse Common Council president.
We asked Gaul why people should vote for him.
“I believe that I have a established working relationship with the council. With city staff. With our partners in the community so far. And I believe that I can capitalize on that and use that for the benefit of the city,” said La Crosse mayoral candidate Martin Gaul.
Army veteran and local restaurant manager Zebulon Kemp joined the race in January.
We also asked him why he thinks voters should support him.
“I care about this city too much. I left here in 2008 for boot camp, returned in 2019. And the city had changed a little bit and there were a lot of complaints from residents and stuff around the city. And that doesn’t sit so well with me,” said La Crosse Mayoral Candidate Zebulon Kemp.
