Give to the Max generates $13.5 million in Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — More than 47,000 people logged on their computers to give $13.5 million to Minnesota charities, schools and religious groups during the state’s biggest online fundraising campaign.
Nearly 4,000 organizations benefited from the 24-hour Give to the Max Day in Minnesota Thursday. Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners generated the most money with $320,000. Agency spokeswoman Lenore Franzen says the donations will support the basic needs of 160 suburban families in the coming year.
The Star Tribune says this year’s fundraiser topped the 2010 total by $3.5 million.
