Governor hopeful, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, visits La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — One of the Democratic hopefuls for Wisconsin governor stopped by La Crosse Wednesday to introduce himself and his campaign to the area.
Madison Mayor Paul Soglin is campaigning on five key issues: making improvements to housing, childcare, education, and career building. He also wants to improve the state’s healthcare by focusing on substance abuse, nutrition, and behavioral health.
“When it comes time to doing battle if necessary, no one else has got the experience, but I really look forward to an opportunity to bring us together and to coalesce different interests around those 5 key areas,” said Soglin.
The Wisconsin primaries are on August 4. Soglin will face off against 9 other democratic candidates for the nomination. The winner will go up against Governor Walker in the General Election on November 6.
