Governor Tony Evers visits UWL student leaders
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Governor Tony Evers is meeting with students across Wisconsin.
Today, he visited the UW-La Crosse campus and toured multiple buildings including the Student Union and the Prairie Springs Science Center.
Student leaders chatted with the governor about political and social issues.
Governor Evers–who is running for re-election–says it is important to speak with college-aged kids because their vote represents the future of state politics.
“I think students like anyone else want people that are in authority and people that are in the legislature and the governor’s office, really work hard to find common ground as much as possible,” said Evers. “I think most people would agree with that and even I agree with that.”
Earlier today, Governor Evers visited with students on UW-Green Bay and UW-Whitewater campuses.
