Grand opening for Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Event included performances, food, giveaways

The Habitat for Humanity held a grand opening event for its new ReStore in La Crosse.

There were musical performances, food, and giveaways for customers that stopped by. La Crosse favorites the Journeymen performed from two to four this afternoon.

The ReStore sells donated home improvement goods. The La Crosse Area ReStore has kept more than 1,200 tons out of landfills since 2006.

“We have anything from furniture to paint, to sinks and toilets, 50 to 75-percent off. All of our proceeds do go to build homes in the community, so we help you and you help us,” said La Crosse Area Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Amanda Acklin.

The ReStore was open an extra two hours Saturday for the grand opening, from nine this morning until five in the afternoon.
