Great Rivers United Way hits million-dollar mark in local grants
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Great Rivers United Way celebrated a milestone on Thursday, reaching the million-dollar mark in grants to local organizations this year.
The YWCA La Crosse, The Parenting Place and the Family & Children’s Center all received checks from the Onalaska-based organization.
“A $67,000 check will go a long way,” said Tita Yutuc, president and CEO of the FCC. “It will go a long way to helping families who are in need and at risk, and the babies and other kids in the family.”
FCC staffers “go out into the home, and there’s no other program like it, and we’re really proud of what we do,” Yutuc said.
The grants distributed Thursday totaled roughly $180,500.
