Growing Power founder to speak at Marquette

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee urban farmer who is nationally known for his nonprofit, Growing Power, will speak at Marquette University this week.

Founder and chief executive officer, Will Allen, is expected to talk about the future of Growing Power, given the national attention it’s received in recent years.

He’s also expected to discuss the potential urban farming has for job creation and other economic development aspects of Growing Power’s success.

Growing Power is a nonprofit organization that promotes sustainable farming methods.

He will speak on Tuesday afternoon in Eckstein Hall.
