Health experts urge you to get your flu shot this year
We're also moving into the start of the cold season, which also has similar symptoms to COVID-19
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – If you don’t usually get your flu vaccine, health experts say you really should this year.
We’re also moving into the start of the cold season, which also has similar symptoms to COVID-19.
So people could potentially think they have contracted COVID-19 when they actually have a cold or the flu.
This will be one of the challenges for people and health care providers when people get sick.
Knowing the difference can be time and cost-saving.
“Every respiratory illness we can prevent is an episode where we don’t need to be thinking about testing for COVID and doing all of the isolation and important quarantining activities that go around that while we wait on test results,” said Dr. Todd Kowalski of Gundersen Health System.
When in doubt, you should contact your provider to get tested for the coronavirus.
