Healthcare navigators with La Crosse’s Workforce Connections help community members enroll in the healthcare marketplace

The deadline for people who need coverage beginning January 1st is two weeks away

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT)- Enrollment is open for the health insurance marketplace.

If you need coverage that starts on January 1st- you need to act fast. The deadline is December 15th.

If you don’t need coverage until later in the new year, you can enroll as late as January 15th.

The marketplace is open to people who don’t get health insurance through an employer, Medicare, or Medicaid.

You can log on to healthcare.gov to compare the different plans and enroll.

If you have questions, the healthcare navigators at La Crosse’s Workforce Connections can help free of charge. “We’re not going to share an opinion or sell you this insurance, We’re just helping you through this process,” explains Wanda Palmer.

Although the enrollment period ends in January, the navigators at Workforce Connections are available year-round to help answer questions and enroll people who unexpectedly lose insurance coverage.
