Highlight Zone Countdown: North Crawford Trojans
Baumeister is back
NORTH CRAWFORD, Wis. (WKBT) — North Crawford returns one of the most exciting players in our area: Branden Baumeister.
In his junior year, he led the conference in both rushing yards and touchdowns. He also placed 10th in the entire state in rushing yards.
“The line, they clearly knew what they were doing, they got the job done very well, and I just followed my blockers and they lead me to the endzone,” an ever-humble Baumeister said.
“We can feed off him and stuff and it’s always nice to have him back there,” said senior running back/defensive end Hunter Fortney. “He gives his best, he gives his best effort so it’ll be nice to have him back there again.”
On the other hand, 15 seniors are gone, including six of the seven guys on the offensive line and nine all-conference players.
“Along with the athletic talent that they brought, they brought a lot of leadership to our team,” said head coach Brandon Munson. “We can’t replace it but we have a nice group of juniors.”
“We know what we have to do to get the job done: replace our seniors that we had before,” Baumeister said. “Let’s strive to be better.”
