Highway 43 bridge inspection starts Monday

Traffic done to one lane

Mndot crews are scheduled to begin the annual inspection of the Highway 43 bridge in Winona on Monday.

The inspection process is scheduled to take two weeks.  During that time, traffic will be done to one lane.  There will be flaggers on the bridge.

The Highway 43 bridge is about 80-years-old.

The new bridge being build right next to it is expected to open around Labor Day.

The old bridge will stay put.  Mndot officials are still considering the options for rehabilitating it.
