Historical and cultural museum could be coming to La Crosse area
Where to attend the next input meeting
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A new historical and cultural museum could be coming to our area in the near future.
The City of La Crosse, La Crosse Museum Planning Task Force, and the UW-La Crosse Tourism Research Institute held public meetings on Monday in La Crosse, Onalaska, and Holmen.
These meetings were used to discuss interest and feasibility regarding a new historical and cultural museum for our community.
“We’re still trying to work on an overall theme for the museum but that’s why we’re having this public meeting, so we can kind of get a good ground basis on what people want to see in the museum,” said Ben Meinholz, a Senior at UWL who is studying Recreational Management and helping create the vision for the historical museum as part of a class.
“So far we’re just trying to gather the information and see where to go next,” Meinholz said.
If you are interested in the potential development of a new historical museum in our area, the next meeting takes place this Wednesday (Nov. 6) at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center in La Crosse from 6 pm-8 pm.
