Hmong art exhibit opens
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — From 1970 to 1980, the Christ Episcopal Church in downtown La Crosse operated welcome center to greet Hmong refugees from Laos and Thailand.
On Sunday, members of the church opened an art exhibit to celebrate artwork created by area Hmong artists.
For the last 30 years, church members have collected art of all kinds and are excited to finally open the exhibit.
They say it’s important for the community to embrace its Hmong culture.
The exhibit will be open for about six weeks.
If you would like to go, you can call the church at (608) 784-0697 for more information.
