Holmen day camp aims to get kids excited about science
'Camp Invention' getting kids interested in technology with hands-on activities
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — A day camp in Holmen is encouraging young minds to think creatively.
“Camp Invention” is being held this week at Prairie View Elementary. The week-long program encourages first through sixth graders to get interested in science and technology by offering a number of hands-on activities.
Kids taking part say they like that they can just be themselves at the camp.
“If you’re just one of those people who don’t really fit in, this is like a place where everyone fits in,” said 5th grader Grace Butler. “You get to do what you want, and it’s just…it’s fun. It’s like school but a lot more fun.”
Nearly 100 kids are a part of the camp this year.
Camp Invention is a nationwide program sponsored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
