Typically volunteers collect items by going door-to-door, but due to the pandemic, the fundraiser will be drive-thru only.

Monetary donations are preferred, but other items like gift cards and non-perishable goods are also acceptable.

Organizers encourage people to get in the holiday spirit by decorating their cars and bringing the whole family along.

“It’s a great opportunity for the kids to come and be safe,” says Lori Taylor, a volunteer for the vent. “They can dress up, and then also it’s a great way to teach the kids that Halloween isn’t just about getting something, getting candy, but it’s also about giving.”

Collected items will be distributed by the church to community members in need.

The drop-off location is open October 30, 4:30-6:00 p.m. and October 31, 2:30-4:40 p.m. at Holmen Lutheran Church, 228 Morris Street, Holmen.

If you are unable to make these select drop-off times, donations can be placed at a secure outside drop box at the Church Street entrance throughout the rest of October.
