Holmen Middle School nutrition leader named top manager in state
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — Holmen Middle School celebrated Kristen Slade’s being honored as the School Nutrition Association of Wisconsin’s Manager of the Year with banners and other fanfare today.
Slade, the school’s nutrition leader, received the award on — appropriately — National School Lunch Hero Day. She has worked at the school for three years and in the Holmen School District for nearly nine.
Slade, who proudly sported her “Lunch Ladies” T-shirt, is known for heroic creativity in providing students with a fun and safe environment in the cafeteria, according to a news release from Stacy Lockington, the school district’s executive assistant.
Slade also volunteers for the MS Cooks program and has made presentations at several conferences.
