Holmen Volleyball gearing up for section semi-final on Thursday
The Holmen volleyball team survived a five-set thriller over the weekend as the Vikings held on to defeat DeForest. Now, they’ll face an even tougher challenge as they head on the road to take on Middleton, a team they beat last season on their way to the state tournament.
“They’re hungry for us,” Holmen Head Coach Kelly Grabowenski said. “Last year we ended up beating them to go to state, so they’re in a great spot, and we just need to go in and beat their energy, and beat their front row.”
“We know that they’re out for blood, and they’re really gonna want to win this one,” senior Rayna McArdle said. “But since we did play them we already know their weaknesses and we’re going to pinpoint them, making sure the energy is on our side the whole time.”
“It just feels good,” senior Kyla Christnovich added. “We’re on top and we’re hoping to stay there for a while.”
The Vikings will take on Middleton on Thursday night at Madison Memorial High School.
