Houston Hoedown Days celebrates 40 years
Annual event is held on the last full weekend in July
HOUSTON, Minn. (WKBT) — It’s a weekend of celebration in Houston, Minnesota.
The annual Houston Hoedown Days filled the streets for the weekend. The event features live music, tractor pulls, food and nightly dances. There was also a parade through the streets of Houston.
Hoedown days has been held on the last full weekend of July for the past 40 years, and one of the founders says the event has come a long way. “We own all our own facilities now and 40 years ago we were on the corner of Main Street in a sand lot, with a horse pull out behind, so yeah, it’s really grown,” said Marlene Schultz, one of the event founders.
