Hudson River pilot to speak in Oshkosh
OSHKOSH, WI (AP) — The pilot who helped land a US Airways flight safely into the Hudson River will speak about his experience in Oshkosh.
Jeff Skiles was a co-pilot aboard the Jan. 15, 2009 flight, which struck a flock of geese shortly after takeoff from New York City. He and Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger successfully land the aircraft on the river and saved the more than 150 people on board.
He will speak Thursday at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture Museum.
Skiles is currently EAA’s vice president of communities and member programs.
