Hundreds of people attend area Wellness Fest

It was an opportunity for area families to pick up a few ideas on how to improve their health.

More than 60 vendors came out to display their services during Wellness Fest at the La Crosse Center on Saturday.

There were cooking demonstrations, activities for the kids, and free skin cancer and blood pressure screenings.

Organizers say it’s important to give people a way to develop a well-rounded view of their health.

“Two just to get people thinking about health and wellness not only physical activity and diet but all seven dimensions of wellness whether that be emotional spiritual all of those dimensions and really practice preventive care,” said Shayna Schertz, wellness education specialist at Gundersen Health.

Organizers say they estimate more than 700 people came out for Saturday’s event.
