Proceeds from the event go toward Children's Miracle Network

The beautiful weather encouraged many to take part in the 5 th Annual Onalaska Firehouse 5k.

There were about 280 registered to participate, but the beautiful weather brought even more people to the race.

Along with raising awareness about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle, a majority of the proceeds from the event will go to the Children’s Miracle Network.

“Our numbers have been growing every year, it’s neat to see the community come out and it’s neat to see the people come out all five years,” said Cory Taylor, an Onalaska firefighter.

Over the last four years, the race has raised about $15,000.
