Hunger Task Force distributes food boxes to those in need

Distribution day a great success

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Families in need now have stocked pantries.

The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse gave out boxes of food, free of charge.

The organization used to distribute to other member organizations, but during the pandemic, they started giving food directly to those in need.

Friday’s drive-up event was open to anyone who asked for help.

Executive Director Shelly Fortner says, “We know that there are still folks out here struggling with the after-effects of the pandemic.”

She asks that anyone who is in need, “please call our office and find out what resources there are in our community for you.”

The Hunger Task Force will post information about their distribution days on their Facebook page.

You can find information about how to volunteer on the Hunger Task Force’s Website.
