Hunger Task Force holds ‘Taste of the Garden’ event
LA CROSSE, WI — The community enjoyed a taste of the garden Thursday evening.
Local restaurants, breweries, and wineries took part in the event at the Kane Street Garden in La Crosse.
The annual event also gave people a tour of the garden and featured some live entertainment.
It’s a fundraiser for the garden which is part of the Hunger Task Force’s work to distribute food to about 60 area food pantries. “The heart of the organization is not necessarily just the staff and the people who do that, but it’s the supporters and it’s the community, because without those folks we would not be able to do what we do,” said the Hunger Task Force’s Exec. Director Shelly Krause.
