Hunger Task Force, Salvation Army of La Crosse County partner for food distribution events
First distribution is March 5th
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A series of food distribution events will help families in La Crosse County who are struggling.
The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse is partnering with The Salvation Army of La Crosse to hold distribution events starting this Friday.
A little more than two out of every five La Crosse County households are at or near financial insecurity.
As the need grows so is local support.
“More people are eligible for the food share. And so we know the need is out there. We’ve also had a really great year as far as food donations. People have been generous. Know that is our job is to feed the community, so we’re going to move the food out to the people who are in need,” said Hunger Task Force executive director Shelly Fortner.
The first distribution event is this Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army Warehouse on Nelson Place.
A second distribution is planned for the First Friday in April.
Details about March’s distribution is available here.
