Hunter fatally shot in Marathon County

TOWN OF HAMBURG, WI (AP) — Sheriff’s officials say one person has died in a hunting accident in Marathon County.

Authorities say a squirrel hunter was shot in the Town of Hamburg Saturday. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and sheriff’s deputies are investigating.

It’s the second hunting accident in Marathon County in a week. A 20-year-old man was shot and wounded last week while hunting in Kronenwetter.
