Hunter shot in southeastern Wisconsin

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — The Waukesha Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report of a hunter who was shot in a field.

A staff member told WTMJ-AM that the shooting happened in Ixonia just before noon Monday.

The man reportedly was shot in the chest while he was hunting.

Waukesha County Sheriff’s Detective Steve Pederson says a helicopter ambulance was called to the scene.

The name of the hunter was not immediately released. The medical condition of the hunter was also not available.
