Hy-Vee recalls candy trays for possible salmonella contamination

Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling several candy trays because they may be contaminated with salmonella, according to a release.

The potential for the contamination was brought to the company’s attention when Palmer Candy Company announced a limited recall of certain chocolate products after its supplier, Valley Milk Products, notified them that a milk powder used in the chocolate coating may be contaminated.

The candy trays were distributed to all of Hy-Vee’s 242 grocery stores, including stores in Wisconsin, according to the release. The product comes in a plastic container with a clear lid, and a sell-by date ranging between Jan. 26, 2017 and Feb. 23, 2017.
