Ice Cream Social at Hixon House historical landmark
La Crosse Historical Society event brings dance performances, live music
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A historical landmark right in La Crosse was at the center of a family-fun event on Saturday.
The La Crosse Historical Society hosted its annual Ice Cream Social at the Hixon House.
Area residents got the opportunity to enjoy the house and learn a little more about the history of our area. There were plenty of activities for kids, dance performances and live music.
Organizers emphasized the importance of creating an atmosphere and community within La Crosse.
“Something we want people to keep in mind, this is the way things are. A good feeling from La Crosse and people from La Crosse that can certainly give you a good time, adds a warm feeling to doing this,” said La Crosse County Historical Society Researcher George Italiano.
The Hixon House was built over 150 years ago and still contains nearly all of its original furnishings.
