Impeachment counter-protest held in La Crosse

Supporters of President Trump are rallying in La Crosse against the impeachment inquiry.

Supporters gathered outside Representative Ron Kind’s office in downtown La Crosse this morning as part of a nationwide effort called ‘Stop the Madness’.

The rally called on Kind to drop his support of the impeachment inquiry.

Republican leaders in the state say they want the election, not an impeachment inquiry, to determine if Trump keeps the presidency.

“We’ve already got an election season, we’ve had debates, primary debates with the democrats. Four or five of them now, or three or four of them. Let the process play out in November of next year, the American people will once again go to the polls and make a decision about whether or not they approve or disapprove of what has happened over the course of the last four years,” said Republican Party of Wisconsin treasurer Brian Westrate.

Kind is one of more than 60 democrats targeted by a national GOP campaign for supporting the impeachment inquiry.
