Early voting begins in Wisconsin

Voting hours vary by municipality

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Early in-person absentee voting starts October 20 across Wisconsin.

Voters will be able to go to their municipal clerk’s office or other designated locations to cast their ballots.

The window for in-person absentee voting is open through November 1.

Clerks are offering different hours and days for voting availability.

In the the city of La Crosse, voters can stop by City Hall from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Voting hours are Mon-Fri through October 30.

Voters that already have their ballots don’t even need to come in the building.

“Anybody that wants to drop their ballots off, they should still use the drop box. The green drop box, right here in city hall. We empty that drop box at least twice a day,” said La Crosse City Clerk Teri Lehrke.

Voters in Onalaska can also cast their ballots at their city hall starting October 20.

In-person absentee voting runs from 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Like La Crosse, Onalaska voters can only vote weekdays through October 30.

And in Sparta, voters will be able to vote at the City Clerk office weekdays, October 20-30.

Hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. most days.

No matter if you vote on election day or by in-person absentee, a photo ID is required.

Among some of the acceptable ID is a Wisconsin DOT issued driver license, even if driving privileges are revoked or suspended.

A Wisconsin DOT issued identification card, military ID card, U.S. passport, or an identification card issued by a federally recognized Tribal ID.
