Interstate crash kills 2 in Trempealeau Co.
OSSEO, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating a fiery interstate crash involving three semitrailers that killed two people from Michigan.
SLIDESHOW: Fatal I-94 Accident
Two others were injured in the crash on Interstate 94 in Trempealeau County Wednesday.
Troopers say a westbound semi operated by Werner Enterprises crossed the median and struck two eastbound semis. Two of the semis became engulfed in flames after the crash. 47-year-old Clara Lee-Ann Wonsowicz of Brighton, Michigan, who was driving the semi that crossed the median, and her passenger, 46-year-old Thomas John-Scott Brown of Ypsilanti, Michigan, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram says the driver of a semi owned by Nationwide Distributor was taken to a Mayo Clinic-affiliated treatment center in Osseo with minor injuries. A passenger in the third semi received minor injuries, but was not transported.
