Iowa DOT offers license, ID renewal at state fair

ANKENY, IA (AP) — Transportation officials are throwing in some practical errands while residents sample food on a stick at the Iowa State Fair: Visitors can now renew their driver’s license.

Fairgoers are encouraged to visit the state Department of Transportation booth in the Varied Industries Building starting Thursday. Visitors will be able to renew their driver’s license or identification card.

The self-serve kiosks at the booth will offer options already available on the agency’s website. Users can also update the photo that appears on their new driver’s license or ID card.

The agency launched the online renewal service through its website in mid-July.
