Iowa fugitive arrested in Waterloo on 2 warrants

WEST UNION, Iowa (AP) — A 19-year-old woman who escaped from a residential facility in northeast Iowa has been arrested.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that Kayla Shaw, of Independence, was arrested Wednesday in Waterloo on two warrants out of Fayette County. One is for failing to appear; the other alleges that she violated probation.

Authorities say Shaw had been hiding in a Waterloo residence since her escape last month.

She’s being held without bail in the Fayette County Jail.

Her attorney in another case didn’t immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Thursday.
