Iowa man accused of superglue assault
MARION, Iowa (AP) — A 48-year-old man has been arrested on assault charges in Linn County, accused of holding a knife to a woman’s throat and trying to pour superglue down her throat.
Linn County authorities say Prentiss Thurmond, of Hiawatha, was arrested after the incident in rural Marion on Saturday. Online court records don’t list the name of his attorney.
Col. John Stuelke, of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, says Thurmond had gotten into a dispute with the woman and had pushed her to the ground. Stuelke says a man who tried to get Thurmond off the woman was cut and scratched. The man and woman both declined medical treatment.
Stuelke says no superglue got into the woman’s mouth.
