Iowa man shot in the leg in Prairie du Chien

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. — Police are looking for multiple suspects after an Iowa man is shot in the leg in Prairie du Chien.

Authorites say it happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday, on the 100 block of East Blackhawk Avenue.

The victim, 22-year-old Joshua Moeck, is already out of the hospital after being treated at Gundersen Lutheran. Moeck is from McGregor, Iowa.

Police say the suspects fled the scene and are not believed to be from Prairie du Chien.


“We feel this is an isolated incident at this time,” said Prairie du Chien Police Chief Chad Abram in a statement.

“We are currently following up on leads are are in the process of identifying the suspects involved. Although we would like citizens to remain vigilant, we do not feel there is an immediate risk to the public,” said Abram.
