Iowa National Guard to introduce aircraft models

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa National Guard is introducing two new models of helicopters for its aviation units.

The Guard will hold a public event Tuesday afternoon at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Davenport for the CH-47F Chinook and UH-72A Lakota helicopters.

The upgraded CH-47F Chinook features a new digital cockpit and enhanced communications and navigation equipment. The UH-72A has two versions used for emergency medical transportation.

The aviation units at the facility will fly, maintain, and refuel the helicopters.
