Iowa pastor pleads guilty to sex abuse charge

WAVERLY, Iowa (AP) — A 67-year-old Iowa minister has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of sexual abuse involving a teenage boy.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that the Rev. Dennis Brown, of rural Eldora, made the plea earlier this week.

Court records say Brown’s sentencing is set for Aug. 20 in Bremer County District Court. County Attorney Kasey Wadding says Brown faces up to 10 years in prison.

Authorities say Brown and the boy became acquainted online. Brown had been pastor at a church between Eldora and Grundy Center in central Iowa.
