Iowan gets 5 years in prison for escape
ORANGE CITY, Iowa (AP) — A 23-year-old Storm Lake man has been given five years in prison for escaping a residential treatment facility in Sheldon.
Sioux County Attorney Coleman McAllister says Shawn Boger was sentenced Monday in Sioux County District Court.
Shawn Boger had been assigned to the Sheldon facility after his 2009 conviction for theft in Buena Vista County. McAllister says Boger tore away a window screen from his room on Feb. 17 and escaped out a window. He was taken back into custody on April 26.
The five-year sentence will be served after Boger finishes his 10-year sentence for theft.
