Irvin D. Stackhouse, age 71, of rural Readstown beloved husband, dad, and grandpa. Went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on April 22nd, 2021. Irvin was born on October 16th, 1949 in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of Dale and Phyllis Stackhouse.

Irvin was a truck driver for 50 years. He was a hard worker and took great care of his family. Irvin retired in 2017. He couldn’t sit still, so a few months later he took a part-time trucking job. He loved to drive. That included long Sunday drives with his wife. They never knew where they would end up. Irvin enjoyed sports, especially football. He was a true Packers fan. Growing up in Nebraska, he liked the Cornhuskers. Irvin moved to Fennimore, WI his freshman year of high school. He played football in high school and was so good at it that he was already on the varsity team as a freshman. He graduated from Fennimore High School in 1968.

Irvin is survived by his wife Linda (Dalton), married on October 30th, 1971 at Maple Ridge Bible Church. Also survived by his sons Micheal (fiancé Shawn) and Kevin Stackhouse, daughter Angie Stackhouse, grandchildren Mckenzie, Madison, Slade, Mikayla, and Evan, Sisters; Ronda (Earl) Vanover, Debbie (Kevin) Nikutta, and his father Dale and stepmother Cythia. He was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis Stackhouse.

The family wants to thank Deanna, Tammy, and all the other nurses from Hospice Care.

Irvin Stackhouse accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was 16 years old. We are at peace knowing that he is in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30th at 11 a.m. at Thorson Funeral home in Viroqua with Pastor Mike Gjefle officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

The Thorson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
