Isaac Fruechte joins Mike Schmidt at Northern State University as Offensive Coordinator
CALEDONIA, Minn. (WKBT) — Isaac Fruechte has taken the position as Offensive Coordinator with Northern State University in South Dakota.
Prior to that position, Isaac was a Wide Receiver Coach at UWL, and then Northern Iowa.
He says that he had gotten a call from former UWL coach Mike Schmidt while he was leaving La Crosse.
Fruechte worked with Schmidt at UWL, and says that following Schmidt was the main reason he left Northern Iowa.
“He is the reason I made the move. The way he treated me and the way he treats his players, at La Crosse goes without saying. They love him and so do the coaches that work for him. It was a pretty easy decision, but we have a lot of work to do,” said Fruechte.
Isaac hasn’t met many of his players yet, as a majority of them are off on winter break.
