Jackson County Sheriff identifies La Crosse man killed in officer-involved shooting
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office identified Donovan Scheurich Sr., 50, as the man killed by deputies Jan. 25 in the town of Millston.
Scheurich, formerly of La Crosse, made repeated calls to 911. He was suicidal and making threats against police and shot at deputies before they returned fire, according to the department.
Three deputies are on paid administrative leave pending the investigation led by the state Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation.
The Division of Criminal Investigation will turn over its findings to the Jackson County district attorney.
