Job fair in La Crescent created to meet need for employers, potential employees

Nearly 30 businesses attended event

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – A job fair is giving people looking for new careers a chance to meet with employers.

The Houston County Economic Development Authority hosted the event in La Crescent Wednesday morning.

The job fair gave potential employees the chance to meet one-on-one with a variety of businesses about job opportunities.

Careers in education, health care and manufacturing were some of the career paths highlighted during the event.

The fair meets a need for the area.

“We had some businesses reach out to us and tell us that they would love to see us do a career fair, so this is our first one and we just throught it would be a great way to showcase all the great businesses that we have here in Houston County,” said Allison Wagner, Houston County Economic Development Authority Director.

Nearly 30 businesses were on hand for the event.
