John Bessler to participate in experimental COVID-19 treatment

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. (WKBT)–John Bessler announced his participation in an experimental treatment program for COVID-19.

Bessler, who is married to Senator Amy Klobuchar, was the 7th person who recovered from COVID-19 to donate plasma to Mayo Clinic Health System in Minnesota.

“I was proud to be one of the first participants in this innovative program at the Mayo Clinic,” said Bessler.

Mayo Clinic and hospitals nationwide encourage anyone who has recovered from the virus to donate plasma.

The program involves giving patients an infusion of antibody-rich plasma from those who have recovered from the infection.
