John Nuttelman

John R. Nuttelman, 74, passed away peacefully in his Barre Mills home on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

He was born to Norbert & Edna (Rewinkel) Nuttelman on January 22, 1947, in La Crosse, WI. He graduated from West Salem High School with the class of 1965.

John was married to Vicki (Frommelt) Nuttelman on December 12, 1976. They would have celebrated 45 years of marriage this year.

He served in the United States Air Force and Army, but was a farmer at heart. He retired from the military in 2007, and went on to work at UWL until his retirement in 2020.

John loved to work in his garden. He was a huge Packers fan and also enjoyed reading Westerns. He loved his children dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki, 2 sons, Matthew Nuttelman and Andrew Nuttelman, his daughter Jessica (Mike) Nuttelman, a stepdaughter, Michelle (Patrick) Kleist, and 2 step-granddaughters, Hannan & Myriam Zary. Also survived by 4 sisters; Barbara Sutter, Rosalind Evans, Virginia (Joe) Knappenberger, and Jeanette (Ronald) Hoyer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father, Norbert Nuttelman, his mother Edna (Rewinkel) Nuttelman, his brother-in-law Don Evans, and his beloved dog, Bear.

The family will be having a private burial Friday, July 9 at Woodlawn North Cemetery, with an open house to follow.

He will be dearly missed.
