Jon ‘Terp’ Terpstra

Jon “Terp” Michael Terpstra, 55, of Holmen WI, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.

He was born July 23, 1965 in La Crosse, WI to Gordon and Sandra (Burand) Terpstra. Jon married Melissa Boardman on October 24, 1992. Jon worked at Walzcraft for 26 years in Maintenance and Process Improvement.

Survivors include son, Dalton Terpstra of Merrillan, longtime partner Jan Scholze of Holmen, Jan’s daughter Jenni Scholze; father Gordon (Carol) Terpstra; Clarence Harris; aunts Rae Daffinson, Rusty (Ed) Faas; uncle Anthony (Kimberly) Burand; sister-in-law Jennifer Williams; nephews Nathanael Terpstra, Justin (Madison) Boardman, Russell (Danielle) Boardman, Zach Boardman, Hunter Boardman; cousins Michael Daffinson, Linda (Dan) Zanter, Tony (Lauren) Burand, Jonas Burand; brothers-in-law Paul (Karma) Boardman, David (Karen) Boardman, Peter (Kelli) Boardman.

Jon was preceded in death by wife Melissa Terpstra; mother Sandra Harris; brother Mark Terpstra; grandparents Donald and Marge Terpstra, Erwin and Larene Burand; mother-in-law Ethel Boardman.

Jon loved sharing his life with Jan, taking trips and antiquing. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating, hunting, especially the yearly trips to Hayward with Barry, David, Cory, and Andy. Jon was very proud of his son Dalton, always sharing his accomplishments with family and friends. Jon will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday, May 14th at Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Avenue South, La Crosse. Private burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery. A celebration of Jon’s life will be held 1-5 pm Saturday, May 15 at Creekside Grill & Pub, Lower Level, W5450 Keil Coulee Road, La Crosse.
