Judge orders bar to produce surveillance footage in Kevin Spacey sex abuse case

A Massachusetts judge ordered a Nantucket bar to produce surveillance video from the night of an alleged groping incident involving actor Kevin Spacey, according to a court filing released Thursday.

Judge Thomas S. Barrett ordered the footage be produced at a pretrial hearing in a Nantucket District Court on Monday, June 3rd. CNN is working to determine if the video will be shown or released at the hearing.

Spacey’s defense had sought records from The Club Car, the bar and restaurant where the alleged incident occurred.

In the ruling, Barrett also partially denied Spacey’s request for cell phone records and other evidence from the actor’s accuser and his mother.

The judge allowed the defense request to examine contents of the accuser’s phone from July 7, 2016 to December 31, 2017. Barrett denied the defense request to phone records of the accuser’s mother.

Spacey, 59, is accused of groping an 18-year-old busboy on a July 2016 evening at the bar. In January, he pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery, a felony charge that comes with up to five years in prison.

The Hollywood actor is known for his roles in the film “The Usual Suspects” and the Netflix series “House of Cards.”

Spacey’s attorney, Alan Jackson, declined to comment.

Mitchell Garabedian, the attorney who represents the alleged victim, declined to comment.
